Getting Around Bnei Brak
Bnei Brak occupies a central location within the Gush Dan, Israel's main metropolitan centre. Its strategic location—east of Tel Aviv, west of Petah Tikva, north of Ramat Gan, and south of Ramat HaSharon—makes it well-connected to the wider region. As a visitor, you have several transport options for moving around the city and connecting to nearby areas.
Buses and Local Transport
Local bus services throughout the Gush Dan region, including Bnei Brak, are operated by the Dan Bus Company. Many buses traverse Bnei Brak due to its central location in the metropolitan area. The city has some local bus lines for getting around within Bnei Brak itself.
From Tel Aviv, take Dan city buses 240 or 160.
Light Rail
The Tel Aviv Light Rail Red Line will pass through Bnei Brak as an underground light rail system, expected to be operational in 2022. It is planned to be built underground as it passes through the city.
Rail Services
Bnei Brak Railway Station is served by trains on the suburban Kfar Saba to Rishon LeZion line. However, the station is a fair distance from the city centre and so less accessible. If arriving from Ben-Gurion Airport, you can take a train to Tel Aviv HaMerkaz (Central Station) and then switch to a bus to reach Bnei Brak.
Taxis
Taxis are an available option for transport within and into Bnei Brak. A taxi from Ben-Gurion Airport to Bnei Brak typically costs around $37.
Road Access and Driving
If you're driving, Bnei Brak's eastern border is demarcated by Highway 4. To the west, the city is easily accessible from the Ayalon Highway. This makes the city convenient to reach by car from surrounding areas.
Getting from Ben-Gurion Airport
From Ben-Gurion Airport you are best off taking a taxi (price $37). It is possible to take buses, but there is no direct bus from the airport to Bnei Brak, so you would have to change buses in Tel Aviv or Ramat Gan. Alternatively, you could take a train from the airport to Tel Aviv HaMerkaz (Central Station) and switch to a bus there.
Arriving from Other Cities
- From Jerusalem: Take Egged/Dan intercity bus 400 from the Tachanah Merkazit (Central Bus Station), which leaves every 10 to 15 minutes. Alternatively, bus 402 is faster and goes mainly through the chareidi neighborhoods of Jerusalem.
