Travel Wiki is a destination encyclopedia and travel-guide site operated by Chimera Media & IT. This page explains who is behind the content, how we research and write it, where our facts come from, and how to tell us when we get something wrong.

Who writes Travel Wiki

Our guides are produced by the Travel Wiki editorial team using a research pipeline that pairs AI drafting with human editorial oversight. We are transparent about this: a large language model assembles a first draft from vetted source material, and our editorial process — described below — is responsible for the sourcing, the fact-checking, and the judgement about what is worth a traveller’s attention. AI helps us cover the world at scale; it does not decide what is true.

How a guide is made

Grounded in named sources. Each guide is written against specific, citable references rather than open-ended generation. Encyclopedic destination content is grounded in Wikipedia; practical “what to see and do” guidance is grounded in Wikivoyage; points of interest, boundaries and geography come from OpenStreetMap and GeoNames; climate figures come from open meteorological data; and events and public holidays come from official calendars. The sources used for a given article are listed on the article itself.
Fact-checked before publishing. Every draft passes an automated fact-check that compares its claims against the grounding sources; drafts that a check flags are held for review or revision rather than published blind. Content that a model declines to write, or that comes back too thin to be useful, is not published as a finished page.
Concentrated on substance. We deliberately do not index thin, templated stub pages. Pages that lack enough original, useful detail are kept out of search until they carry real value, so the guides you find are the ones with something to say.

Accuracy and corrections

We work to keep Travel Wiki accurate and current, but travel details change — opening hours, prices, transport, entry rules and event dates especially. Always confirm time-sensitive and safety-critical information with official sources before you travel. See our content accuracy notice for more.
