Laiwu Iron and Steel Museum of China occupies a unique place in the country's cultural institutions—it records the history of iron and steel smelting in China, which is unique in China. Just nearby, Laiwu Museum of Art centers on Laiwu Bangzi, a traditional folk drama form, and displays paintings and calligraphy alongside theatrical heritage. Both museums stand near Longyuan Hotel and charge no admission.

Half an hour from Jinan's main airport, the Xueye Tourist Area draws visitors for water sports, fishing restaurants, and seasonal recreation. In winter, Xueye Ski Resort operates as one of Shandong Province's premier skiing destinations, open from December 12 through March 8. When snow gives way to other seasons, Aero China Helicopter Tourism Base offers a different form of altitude: aerial sightseeing, skydiving, and customized helicopter routes.
