The hotels here tend to be smaller, more intimate properties, and prices are notably lower than Donggang's waterfront offerings. You trade some walkability to the water for a genuine neighbourhood feel and easier access to inland attractions.

Day trips from either base
From Donggang, the beaches—Wanpingkou Beach and Rizhao Beach National Park—are walkable or a short taxi ride. From Lanshan, Wulian Mountain, Daqing Mountain, Longmengu (龙门崮风景区), and Tiantai Mountain are within an hour's reach by car or arranged tour.
