Parc del Fòrum: Where Barcelona Does Halloween at Scale

By late afternoon on 31 October, the concrete esplanade of Parc del Fòrum fills with costume, bass and salt air off the Mediterranean. This is the city's biggest open-air Halloween address, and in 2026 it hosts several events across two days. On 30 October from 5pm, KINYXX Open Air Halloween (part of Balla Barcelona Festival) takes over the space. On 31 October from 4pm, the Throwback Open Air Halloween Festival mines 80s, 90s and 00s hits. Other Fòrum events that weekend include Jackies Open Air Halloween on 31 October (tickets from €27), Fury 3rd Anniversary x Halloween, and Hop on The Top Open Air Halloween, with other events starting around €30. Halloween itself falls on a Saturday in 2026, so the whole night runs late.

Indoor Parties, Karaoke and Costume Competitions

If you want a roof, a mirror ball and a prize for your outfit, the city's clubs and venues deliver. HLWN Fest 2026 runs 30 October, 8pm–2:30am, at the Espai Gastronòmic inside Estació de França (Av. del Marquès de l'Argentera, 6), with karaoke from 8–10:30pm, DJ Avezz from 10:30pm–2:30am and a costume competition; first-release tickets were €10 plus a €0.75 booking fee, with later batches released on 9 and 23 October. At Salamandra you can catch La Mandra Especial Halloween on 31 October from 6pm (a DJ set, over-25s), Zoco Halloween from 12:30am, and Reverse Halloween on 30 October. YASS! Especial Halloween takes over Safari Disco Club on 31 October, 12am–6am, with two music areas (hits/urban/pop and house), a costume competition, and advance tickets from €20 including one drink. BRESH XL Especial Halloween lands at the Hyatt Regency Barcelona Tower in L'Hospitalet, 11pm–6am, spanning reggaeton, pop, dancehall, rock and electronic, again with a costume competition.

Family Halloween and the Castanyada Mash-Up

Barcelona folds Halloween into its own autumn festival, the Castanyada, and children get both. At Poble Espanyol, Creepy Halloween Family runs 17, 18, 24, 25 and 31 October and 1 November: a themed route with mysteries, legends, characters and puzzles, milder earlier in the day and scarier later, with tickets from €14.50. The Chocolate Museum runs Castaween, chocolate workshops for children and families that combine Castanyada and Halloween, lasting 60–90 minutes and priced €12–€18. Neighbourhood versions — Castaween or Castanyoween, some free — include Guinardó on 29 October, 5–7pm, free for ages 0–12 with games, workshops, autumn stories, chestnuts and sweet potatoes; Vil·la Florida Civic Centre on 30 October; and Congrés i els Indians on 31 October, with a free haunted house from 5–10pm plus music. For a quieter evening, Candlelight: Halloween Classics plays the Church of the Sacred Heart on 30 October at 7pm and 9pm, tickets from €18.

Ghost Walks, Horror Nights and the Scarier Side

For atmosphere over amplification, book the Fantasmas de Barcelona night tour, which starts near Arc de Triomf and winds through Sant Pere, Santa Caterina, La Ribera and on to Santa Maria del Mar, drawn from Sylvia Lagarda-Mata's book *Fantasmes de Barcelona*. It lasts about two hours, costs €12, and under-8s go free; a self-guided mobile-phone ghost exploration game is also available for €12. Poble Espanyol's La Zona is a night-time horror experience on 16, 23, 30 and 31 October, not for young children, with tickets from €24. At the Barcelona Wax Museum, The Secret Studio is a horror-film and monster experience with make-up and special effects — Frankenstein, the Werewolf — lasting around two hours for about €21. And if you want Halloween to outlast the weekend, Terror Molins, the horror film festival in Molins de Rei, runs 6–15 November 2026.

Beyond the City: Theme Parks and Seasonal Timing

Halloween in Catalonia is a season, not a night. PortAventura World runs its Halloween programme from 19 September to 15 November 2026, and Tibidabo's Halloween activities begin in early October and continue to 2 November. Poble Espanyol's Halloween activities span 17 October to 1 November. Most events cluster around 31 October, with some afternoon options for earlier celebrating, and programmes are often expanded closer to the date — ticket prices rise as tiers sell out, so book early and check recommended ages and scare levels before bringing children. The city's chestnut and sweet-potato stalls, the edible heart of the Castanyada, appear alongside all of it.

With Halloween falling on a Saturday in 2026, you have a full weekend of open-air festivals, club nights, ghost walks and family routes to build an itinerary around — and a fortnight on either side of it if you'd rather avoid the crush. Start with the Fòrum line-up and one indoor party, add a Castanyada afternoon for the children or a candlelit concert for a quieter night, and book your tickets before the tiers move up.
