Maianga is one of the six municipalities of Luanda Province in Angola. In 2011, it was redesignated as one of Luanda's six urban districts as part of a regional government restructuring. The municipality represents one of the older quarters of Luanda, having been established prior to Angola's independence.
Maianga is primarily known for two distinctive features. It is home to Quatro de Fevereiro Airport, a significant transportation hub for the region. Additionally, the area is recognized for its strong musical culture, which reflects its historical importance within Luanda's urban landscape.
