Yauco is a town and municipality located in southern Puerto Rico. While its downtown area is situated inland, the municipality extends to a southern coastline that faces the Caribbean Sea.
The region is bordered by Maricao, Lares, and Adjuntas to the north; Sabana Grande and Guánica to the east; and Guayanilla to the west. The municipality is composed of 20 barrios and Yauco Pueblo.
Yauco serves as a principal town within both the Yauco Metropolitan Statistical Area and the Ponce-Yauco-Coamo Combined Statistical Area.
