Luquillo is a town and municipality situated on the northeast coast of Puerto Rico. Geographically, it is positioned northwest of Fajardo and east of Rio Grande. The municipality is divided into Luquillo Pueblo and five distinct barrios.
The area is part of the Fajardo Metropolitan Statistical Area. It provides its name to the Sierra de Luquillo mountain range, which serves as the location for El Yunque National Forest.
