Loiza

Puerto Rico

Loíza is a town and municipality located on the northeastern coast of Puerto Rico. It is situated east of Carolina, west of Río Grande, and north of Canóvanas. As an outer municipality within the San Juan metropolitan area, it encompasses five barrios as well as the downtown area and administrative center known as Loíza Pueblo.

The region is primarily recognized for its rich Afro-Puerto Rican culture and heritage. Notable tourist destinations include the unrestricted beaches, street food kiosks, and the Australian pine and mangrove state forest located in the district of Piñones within the barrio of Torrecilla Baja.
