Humacao is a city and municipality located on the eastern coast of Puerto Rico. It serves as the capital of the department of the same name. Geographically, it is situated north of Yabucoa, south of Naguabo, east of Las Piedras, and west of Vieques.
The municipality is organized into Humacao Pueblo and 12 distinct barrios. It is also designated as part of the San Juan-Caguas-Guaynabo Metropolitan Statistical Area.
