Florida is a state located in the Southeastern and South Atlantic regions of the United States. Florida is unique as the only state that borders both the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean.

With a population exceeding 23 million people, it ranks as the third-most populous state in the country. Major population centers include Jacksonville, the most populous city, and the Miami metropolitan area, which is anchored by Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach.
