Ayourou is a town and rural commune located in the Tillabéri Region of western Niger. It is situated approximately 208 km northwest of the national capital, Niamey, in close proximity to the border with Mali.
The historic old town of Ayorou is positioned on an island within the River Niger. The area is notable for its local animal market and diverse wildlife, which includes various bird species and hippopotamuses.
