Zinder, formerly spelled Sinder, is a city located in Niger. It serves as the third largest city in the country, with a recorded population of 235,605 according to the 2012 census.
The city is situated approximately 861 km (535 mi) east of the national capital, Niamey. It is also located about 240 km (150 mi) north of the Nigerian city of Kano.
