Nguigmi

Niger

N'guigmi is a city and commune located in the easternmost region of Niger. The settlement has a population of approximately 40,000 residents.

The city is situated on the shore of Lake Chad, though it was positioned there until the lake eventually retreated. It serves as a significant crossroads for traditional camel caravans operated by the Tuareg people and functions as a hub for traders traveling across the Sahara in both northern and southern directions.
