El Plateado de Joaquín Amaro, also known as Joaquín Amaro or General Joaquín Amaro, is a municipality and community located in the state of Zacatecas, Mexico. It is situated approximately 105 km (65 mi) southwest of Zacatecas City at an elevation of 2,800 m (9,200 ft).
The municipality is bordered by the municipal divisions of Villanueva, Tabasco, Momax, and Tlaltenango de Sánchez Román. According to 1990 census data, the community had a population of 1,606 residents.
