Ticul is a city located in the Mexican state of Yucatán. It serves as the municipal seat for the surrounding municipality of the same name and is situated approximately 100 km south of Mérida, which is the state capital.
The city has a population that was recorded at about 28,000 people in the year 2000. The majority of the local inhabitants are ethnically Maya.
