Sotuta is a small town and municipality located in the Mexican state of Yucatán. It serves as a local administrative division within the region.
Historically, Sotuta was the name of a Mayan chiefdom situated in the northern central portion of the Yucatán Peninsula. This settlement existed prior to the arrival of Spanish conquistadors in the sixteenth century.
