Acanceh is a town and ancient Maya archaeological site located in the Mexican state of Yucatán. It is situated approximately 21 kilometres (13 mi) from Mérida, which serves as the state capital. The location also functions as the seat of the municipality of Acanceh.
The modern town is built partially atop the pre-Columbian archaeological site, where human occupation appears to have been continuous. In the Yucatec Maya language, the name Acanceh translates to "groan of the deer."
