Tuxtilla is a municipality situated in the southern zone of the Mexican state of Veracruz. It is located approximately 175 km from Xalapa, which serves as the state capital. The geographical coordinates for the area are 18°14′N 95°8′W.
The municipality covers a total surface area of 168.62 km2. Its name is derived from the Náhuatl language, originating from the term Tuz-Tlan.
