Tepatlaxco

Tepatlaxco is a municipality situated in the montane central zone of the Mexican state of Veracruz. It covers a total surface area of 99.53 km2 and is located at the geographic coordinates 19°04′N 96°51′W, approximately 55 km from the state capital, Xalapa.

The municipality was historically known as San Martín Ocotitlán during the 18th century. Its current boundaries were officially established by a decree on June 23, 1890, which fixed the limits between Tepatlaxco and the neighboring municipality of Ixhuatlan.
