Tatatila is a municipality situated in the mountainous central zone of the Mexican state of Veracruz. It is located approximately 26 km from Xalapa, which serves as the state capital.
The municipality covers a total surface area of 82.25 km² and is positioned at the geographic coordinates of 19°42′N 97°07′W.
