Oteapan is a municipality situated in the southeastern zone of the Mexican state of Veracruz. Located at coordinates 18°00′N 94°40′W, it sits approximately 394 kilometers from Xalapa, which serves as the state capital.
The municipality covers a total land area of 27.97 km2. It is recognized as one of the administrative divisions within the Veracruz region.
