Jamapa is a municipality located in the Mexican state of Veracruz. It is situated along Federal Highway 137 and serves as a local administrative division within the region.
The name Jamapa originates from the Nahuatl term Xam-a-pan, which translates to "in the river of the adobes." The municipality was officially established on February 17, 1870.
