Ixhuatlán del Sureste is a municipality located in the southeastern zone of the Mexican state of Veracruz. It is situated approximately 320 kilometers (200 miles) from Xalapa, which serves as the state capital.
The municipality covers a total area of 276.37 square kilometers (106.71 square miles). It is defined by its geographic position within the southeastern region of the Veracruz territory.
