Hidalgotitlán is a town located in the Mexican state of Veracruz. As of the year 2000, the municipality had a population of approximately 18,000 residents.
The name of the town is derived from a combination of Spanish and indigenous linguistic elements. It combines the Spanish family name Hidalgo with the Nahuatl suffix -tlan, which translates to "place."
