Coscomatepec is a municipality situated in the Mexican state of Veracruz. It is positioned within the mountainous central zone of the state, approximately 50 kilometers from Xalapa, which serves as the state capital.
The municipality covers a total area of 130.78 square kilometres (50.49 mi2) and is located at the geographic coordinates 19°04′N 97°03′W.
