Cosamaloapan is a city and municipality situated in the central region of the Mexican state of Veracruz. It is positioned along the Papaloapan River, approximately 240 kilometers from Xalapa, which serves as the state capital.
The municipality covers a total surface area of 323.26 km2 and is geographically located at coordinates 18°22′N 95°48′W.
