Coetzala is a municipality situated in the Mexican state of Veracruz. It is positioned within the montane central zone of the state, located approximately 90 km from Xalapa, which serves as the state capital.
The municipality covers a total surface area of 26.32 km2 and is geographically identified by the coordinates 18°47′N 96°55′W.
