Coatzintla is a municipality located in the northern region of the Mexican state of Veracruz. It is situated approximately 120 kilometres (75 mi) from Xalapa, the state capital, at the geographical coordinates 20°29′N 97°28′W.
The municipality covers a total area of 235.25 square kilometres (90.83 mi2). As of 2020, its population was recorded at 55,016 people, with 34,039 residents living in the municipal seat. Other notable localities within the municipality include Geovillas del Real, Manuel María Contreras, Palma Sola, and Corralillos.
