Alto Lucero is a city and municipality located in the Mexican state of Veracruz. It is situated at the geographic coordinates 19°37′N 96°44′W, approximately 35 kilometers from Xalapa, which serves as the state capital.
The municipality is notable for hosting the Laguna Verde nuclear power plant. Built during the 1970s near the town of Punta Limón within Alto Lucero, it remains Mexico's only nuclear power facility.
