Tlaxcala, officially known as the Free and Sovereign State of Tlaxcala, is one of the 32 federal entities that comprise the Federal Entities of Mexico. It serves as a distinct political and geographical region within the country.
The state is divided into 60 municipalities. Its capital city and largest urban center is Tlaxcala de Xicohténcatl.
