Apizaco is a city located in the Apizaco Municipality, situated near the geographic center of the Mexican state of Tlaxcala. It is positioned approximately 25 minutes by car from the state's capital city, Tlaxcala.
The city originated specifically due to its location on the railroad connecting Mexico City to the port of Veracruz. Because of this infrastructure, travelers using the rail line must pass through Apizaco to reach the coast.
