Tacotalpa

Tacotalpa is a small town situated in the southern Mexican state of Tabasco. It serves as the seat of the municipality of the same name and is located near the Usumacinta River, close to the border with the state of Chiapas.

The city is positioned approximately 160 kilometers (100 miles) south of the Gulf of Mexico coast and about 50 kilometers (31 miles) from Villahermosa, which is the state capital. As of 2010, the population of Tacotalpa was recorded at 8,071 inhabitants.
