Nacajuca is a city located within the Nacajuca Municipality in the state of Tabasco, Mexico. It is situated in the north-central portion of the state as part of the Chontalapa region.
The city serves as a major center for the Chontal Maya population. While its economy remains rooted in agriculture and livestock, it also features significant activity in oil production, handcrafts, and tourism. The surrounding environment consists of low-lying flat land that is highly susceptible to flooding, notably impacted by major flood events in 2007 and 2011.
