Macuspana is a city located in the south-central region of the state of Tabasco in southeastern Mexico. It serves as the municipal seat for the municipality of Macuspana, which covers a total area of 2,551.7 square kilometers.
As of the 2005 census, the city had a population of 30,661, making it the fifth-largest city in the state of Tabasco. The surrounding municipality has a larger total population of 142,954 and includes several smaller communities, the largest of which is Benito Juárez.
