Trincheras is a town located within the Trincheras Municipality in the northwestern region of the Mexican state of Sonora. The municipality covers a total area of 3,764.26 square kilometers.
The settlement was founded in 1775 by Bernardo de Urrea. According to data from the year 2000, the population of the town was 1,788 residents.
