Toliman is a star located within the Alpha Centauri star system in the southern constellation of Centaurus. It is one of three primary stars that comprise this system, alongside Rigil Kentaurus and Proxima Centauri.
While Proxima Centauri is identified as the closest star to the Sun at approximately 4.2465 light-years away, Toliman is part of the Alpha Centauri A and B pair. These two stars are notable for being the nearest stars visible to the naked eye from Earth.
