Tehuacán is a city located in the southeastern portion of the Tehuacán valley in the Mexican state of Puebla. It serves as the municipal seat for the surrounding municipality, which borders the states of Oaxaca and Veracruz.
As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 248,716, while the broader Tehuacán municipality recorded a population of 274,906. The municipality covers a total area of 390.36 km² (150.72 sq mi) and is recognized as the second largest city in the state of Puebla.
