Izúcar de Matamoros is a city located in the southwestern region of the Mexican state of Puebla. It serves as the municipal seat for the Izúcar de Matamoros Municipality, which covers an area of 514.11 km² and sits at an elevation of 1,100 meters above sea level.
According to the 2005 census, the city had a population of 41,042 inhabitants, while the broader municipality recorded a population of 69,413. The surrounding area includes several other communities, with La Galarza and San Juan Raboso being the largest among them.
The city features notable local landmarks, including the portales and Santo Domingo, which is identified as the largest church in the city.
