Santo Domingo Tomaltepec is a town and municipality located in the state of Oaxaca in south-western Mexico. It is situated within the Centro District of the Valles Centrales region, positioned approximately 10 km east of the city of Oaxaca.
The municipality covers a total area of 49.76 km2 and experiences a mild climate with minimal variation throughout the year. While the natural vegetation of the area is characterized as semi-desert, the heavy clay soils are highly productive for agricultural purposes, specifically for the cultivation of maize, beans, and various fruits.
