Santo Domingo Tehuantepec

Santo Domingo Tehuantepec is a city and municipality located in the southeast region of the Mexican state of Oaxaca. It is situated within the Tehuantepec District in the western portion of the Istmo Region.

Historically, the area served as an important trade route connecting Central America with central Mexico during the pre-Hispanic period. It later functioned as a secondary capital for the Zapotec dominion before falling under Spanish conquest in the early 16th century.
