San Miguel Tenango is a town and municipality located in the state of Oaxaca in southeastern Mexico. It is situated within the Tehuantepec District, which lies in the western portion of the Istmo Region.
The municipality ranks as the fourth least densely populated area in the state of Oaxaca. It is more densely populated than Santa Magdalena Jicotlán, Santa María Ixcatlán, and Santa María Chimalapa.
