San Mateo Etlatongo is a town and municipality located in the state of Oaxaca in south-western Mexico. The municipality occupies a total area of 24.40 km2.
Geographically, San Mateo Etlatongo is situated within the Nochixtlán District in the southeastern portion of the Mixteca Region.
