San Marcos Arteaga is a town and municipality located in the state of Oaxaca in south-western Mexico. The municipality occupies a total area of 133.96 km2.
Geographically, San Marcos Arteaga is situated within the Huajuapan District, which is positioned in the northern part of the Mixteca Region.
