Pinotepa Nacional is a city and the seat of the municipality of the same name, located in the Mexican state of Oaxaca. It is situated within the Jamiltepec District in the western portion of the Costa Region.
The name Pinotepa is derived from the Nahuatl language and translates to "toward the crumbling hill."
