Magdalena Tequisistlán is a town and municipality located in the Mexican state of Oaxaca. It is situated approximately 470 km (290 mi) southeast of Mexico City and forms part of the Tehuantepec District within the western portion of the Istmo Region.
The town was founded in 1410 under its current name. Historically, it was known as "Maadú" in the Chontal language.
