Huautepec is a town and municipality located in the state of Oaxaca in south-western Mexico. It occupies an area of 35.72 square kilometers and is situated within the Teotitlán District in the northern portion of the Cañada Region.
As of 2005, the municipality had a total population of 5,672 residents. The region serves as a geographical component of the broader Oaxaca landscape, defined by its placement within the specific administrative boundaries of the Teotitlán District.
