Montemorelos is a city and surrounding municipality located in the northern Mexican state of Nuevo León. Situated in the valley of the Pilon River, the area has a population of 67,428 inhabitants.
The city was named in honor of José María Morelos. It serves as a primary urban center within its respective region of the state.
