Ciudad General Escobedo, often referred to simply as Escobedo, is a city and municipality located in the state of Nuevo León, Mexico. It serves as an integral part of the Monterrey Metropolitan area. The municipality covers an area of approximately 149 km² (58 sq mi) and shares borders with several neighboring municipalities, including San Nicolás de los Garza, Monterrey, Santa Catarina, Hidalgo, El Carmen, Apodaca, Salinas Victoria, and García.
According to the 2005 census, the population of the city was 295,131, while the total municipal population reached 299,364. A notable landmark within the municipality is the Mexican Army's 7th Military Zone Army Base.
