Tecuala is a municipality and town situated on the Pacific coast in the Mexican state of Nayarit. It serves as a coastal destination within the region, characterized by its proximity to the ocean.
The municipality covers a total area of 1,137 km2 (439 sq mi) and had a population of 42,237 as of the year 2000. The town itself serves as the municipal seat and recorded a population of 14,584 during the same period.
One of the notable geographical features of the area is Playa Novillero, which is recognized as one of the longest beaches in the world.
